Amphetamines are on every standard panel including the federal 5-panel. A prescription does not exempt you — it explains the result. Take your prescription (or pharmacy printout) to the collection site or have it ready for the Medical Review Officer call; verified prescriptions are reported as negative.

lisdexamfetamine is a prodrug: your body converts lisdexamfetamine into d-amphetamine after ingestion, so it produces a normal amphetamine-positive result indistinguishable timing-wise from mixed amphetamine salts.

Illicit methamphetamine also breaks down into amphetamine, which is why meth confirmations require both methamphetamine and its metabolite amphetamine above thresholds — separating prescription-amp users from meth users.

Typical therapeutic doses of mixed amphetamine salts clear urine in 1–3 days; larger or prolonged doses push toward 4–5 days. There is no realistic same-day trick; hydration dilution risks a 'dilute' flagged specimen instead.

If it IS detected, how long does it last?

• Documented amphetamine-screen cross-reactants include bupropion (bupropion), labetalol, phentermine, pseudoephedrine/pseudoephedrine decongestants, methylphenidate (some assays), trazodone, selegiline, and promethazine — immunoassay positives only; GC–MS confirmation distinguishes them.
• Phentermine is a genuine amphetamine-class result on many assays rather than a false one — disclose it.

Remember: immunoassay screens produce artifacts; mass-spec confirmation and the MRO review are where legitimate explanations win.
